Some day
It’s FO Friday again and I’m here to report yet another “invisible” FO. By now you probably think I’m making these up, but seriously, when these commissioned FOs are finally published and revealed publicly, you’ll know about it!
The one finished this week is, in a word, awesome. It turned out better than expected and was more fun to work on than anything else I’ve created lately. After dispatching it at the P.O. to its final destination, it was with a twinge of sadness at the end of such an enjoyable project, and yet with a sense of excitement about what it might lead to.
And sure enough, in yesterday’s email, confirmation of another design commission! I feel very fortunate to have these opportunities to contribute new creative projects. The hard part is the long wait between completion of an FO commissioned for publication and seeing it in print a year or two later.
Awaiting publication are six projects which I can’t reveal until they are released. So instead of showing any knit/crochet FOs this week, how about some nature photos? We’ve just had an overnight snowstorm come through, a small precursor to a larger storm due to arrive this weekend. After having just left deep-powder snow country in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, it seems that the snow followed us home …
Although I’m unable to share photos of my commissioned FOs, some successfully-completed projects made by other crafters using Designs by KN patterns have been appearing on my Ravelry activity tab. It does a designer’s heart good to see finished projects made from one’s patterns, especially the smiles on adorable little kids wearing new hats. Some recent FOs that seem to be popular right now are:
… and even a Ruffled Lace Christmas Stocking, successfully completed by a knitter who was very pleased with hers …
The FOs completed for publication should appear in print long before Christmas. Watch for them later this summer. In the meantime, we have to get through winter first …
It will be spring again, Andrew … some day!
