Busy-ness
Recovering bit-by-bit from the back-to-back road trips, arriving home to find there has been a lot of busy-ness going on:
Three of my yarn reviews have been published in the current issue of Crochet Insider. It was so much fun sampling these fabulous new yarns. Links to each review follow:
Blue Sky Alpacas “Techno”: cloud-soft wonder
Filatura Di Crosa “Tiffany”: glamour and sparkle with a soft touch
Berroco “Boboli”: Persian carpet in a skein of yarn
In the next post, I’ll share new designs created from these unique yarns.
Three of my crocheting coworkers and I have been working together to produce a new batch of items for the 2011 Crochet & Knit-A-Thon Snug Hugs for Kids charity drive. Our hooks & needles were kept busy. This week I collected, sorted, packed and shipped two large boxes of donations. Together we made: 60 assorted hats for older kids, 16 baby hats, 2 scarves, 1 baby blanket, and 1 baby hat/bootie set. Here they are:
Thanks again, awesome stitching ladies!!
I also completed a new design commission (to be revealed later), and discovered that 60 More Quick Knits is starting to appear here and there:
One of my new scarf designs is included, so as soon as I see it in print with my own eyes I’ll be able to reveal it. Also coming soon is a very special project scheduled to appear in the Winter 2011/2012 issue of Love of Knitting magazine, on sale November 8.
On top of all of these exciting things, I have been asked for the following projects: an Irish-themed baby blanket & matching hat; a pink baby hat/bootie set; soft earwarmers; a bridal shrug.
As I said … busy-ness!!
